Product DescriptionHere is one of our unique, women's Claddagh ring designs. This Claddagh ring design is fondly nicknamed the 'kiss' design since the arms of the sterling silver ring crossover. The Claddagh ring is surrounded in folklore and legend, but there is nothing mysterious about the foundational values it symbolizes. The symbols used in the Claddagh ring imply the following: hands represent friendship, the heart equals love, and the crown stands for loyalty. These ancient qualities still endure significantly in the human heart which is why the Claddagh ring is used especially as gifts suggestive of friendship, love, or marriage.
While the Claddagh ring is thought to have been first created about 400 years ago just outside of Galway in a fishing village, did you know that it is closely related to a type of European finger ring called "Fede rings"? In Roman times, clasped hands represented the pledging of vows, (the same as the Claddagh ring) and were used as love and marriage rings during Europe's medieval and Renaissance periods. The Claddagh ring is now a world known symbol representing what human hearts seek, whether they are of Irish ancestry or not. Only full sizes, from 4 - 10, are available.
