St. Lucy Holy Card Laminated
If you are looking for a saint to model your life after who was firm in her faith in the face of persecution you may wish to consider St. Lucy. This holy card shows St. Lucy who was martyred in the early Christian church because she refused to marry since she had dedicated her virginity to God. The holy card measures 2-1/2 by 4-1/2 inches and is laminated to protect the card. The holy card has gold accents and features famous Fratelli-Bonella artwork giving you a beautiful image of this popular saint. Lucy means "light" and the prayer on the back of the holy card asks God to increase and preserve the light of faith in us just as he did in St. Lucy. Not much is known about her life except that she was tortured and died in the early 4th century and by the 6th century the whole Church recognized her courage in defending the faith. In many of her images she is shown holding a dish with two eyes in it. Legend has it that her eyes were put out as part of her torture but they were later restored by God. St. Lucy is one of only eight women mentioned along with Mary by name in the Canon of the Mass. She is patron saint of the blind and her feast day is December 13.St. Lucy Holy Card Laminated
