The St. Kateri Tekawitha devotional medal celebrates the "Lily of the Mohawks" who was born in 1657 in upstate New York. Measuring 1”H, the mixed base metal devotional medal of St. Kateri is a two-sided design. The front side has “Saint Kateri Tekawitha” around the outer rim with a waist up portrayal of her in her Native clothing holding a cross. On the back are the words, “Pray for Us”. Made in Italy, this is an affordable piece to buy in bulk for group purchases.
St. Kateri endured scars on her face and body from small pox, being orphaned, and converting to Catholicism which made her an exiled from her tribe. Dying at age 24, her scars disappeared revealing her extreme beauty. She is the patron saint of ecologist, loss of parents, people in exile, and Native Americans.
