St John Baptist de la Salle Mini Lives Holy CardSt. John Baptist de la Salle was concerned about the education of young men but especially young men who were too poor to pay for an education. He opened schools and then formed an order called the Brothers of the Christian Schools or simply the Christian Brothers. He changed teaching methods from one-on-one teaching to classroom teaching thus being able to teach more young people. This holy card, dedicated to him, is a two page card featuring the world famous artwork of Fratelli-Bonella with gold stamped trim. The front of the card has an image of St. John Baptist instructing a group of young men. The back of the card has a prayer asking that teachers today, especially the Christian Brothers, continue to be Christ-like models for all their students. The inside has a biography of St. John, his feast day, the meaning of his name and the people for whom he is considered a patron saint. The card measures 5-3/8 by 3-1/4 inches so is easy to carry or use as a bookmark in a bible or prayer book. It would be a nice memento to give the young person who has chosen John as his Confirmation name or for someone involved in education.
