Product Details
St. Benedict is the patron saint of the homeless, Monastics, monks, and poisoning. St. Benedict's feast day is celebrated yearly by the Catholic Church on April 16. This St. Benedict medal is sterling silver, 3/4" high or about the size of a penny. The front of the saint medal depicts the image and name of Saint Benedict. The back of the St. Benedict medal shows the letters representing the prayer of Jesus while being tempted in the desert: "Be gone Satan! Never tempt me with your vanities! What you offer me is evil! Drink the poison yourself!"
Our St. Benedict medal shows the letters representing his Latin prayer. Translated, they mean: "May the Holy cross be my light! May the dragon never be my guide!" The St. Benedict medal comes on a 20" chain, which is a nice length for older boys or men. The patron saint medals are a gift often given for the sacrament of Confirmation.
