Product Details
St. Barbara was the beautiful daughter of a pagan named Dioscorus. At a young age, St. Barbara converted to Christianity against her father's will, and was consequently imprisoned and martyred. St. Barbara is the patron of architects, builders, storms, ammunitions workers, fireworks, warehouses, and impenitence. Her feast day is December 4.
This St. Barbara medal is oval shaped and made of sterling silver and measures 3/4" high and 5/8" wide. On the medal St. Barbara is shown holding a chalice indicating her constant loyalty to her faith and she also holds a palm branch a symbol of victory, triumph and eternal life. On her head she wears the crown of martyrdom. The words "St. Barbara Pray for Us" are engraved in black round the edge of the medal. The medal comes on a 18" surgical stainless steel chain which is a perfect length for ladies to wear. The medal comes in an attractive green velvet hinged gift box.
