This holy card is dedicated to St. Jacinta Marto one of the three Portuguese children who experienced the apparitions of Mary at Fatima where she asked them to say the Rosary and make sacrifices for the sinners of the world. Saint Jacinta died at age 9 from the 1918 influenza epidemic that swept across Europe. She was canonized by Pope Francis when he visited Fatima on the 100th anniversary of the first apparition of Mary to the children. Jacinta was convinced she had to save sinners through penance and suffering and she suffered greatly when extraordinary means were taken to try to save her life when she was stricken with influenza. She, along with her brother Francisco, practiced stringent self-mortification as they felt they were directed to do by Mary.
The Saint Jacinta Marto holy card has an image of Jacinta on one side and a novena on the other. She is the patron saint of many causes including bodily ills, Portuguese children and people ridiculed for their piety. Her feast day is February 20. The holy card is laminated for protection allowing for many years of use.
