Product Details
"This book tells the story of a miracle that, as even Blessed Fulton J. Sheen would say, was due first and foremost to God's perfect, abundant, and life-giving love and the power of a believing people who prayed without ceasing." From the Foreword by Katie Prejean McGrady, Host, SiriusXM's The Catholic Channel
In a quiet Illinois bedroom, a newborn boy lay blue and lifeless, with no movement, no breath, and no heartbeat. His parents had named him James Fulton, entrusting his life to a Catholic hometown hero they barely knew—Fulton J. Sheen. Sixty-one minutes later, as doctors prepared to record the time of death, James's heart suddenly began to beat.
In 61 Minutes to a Miracle, Bonnie L. Engstrom shares the true story of her son's dramatic healing, ultimately approved by the Church as the miracle necessary for Fulton Sheen's beatification. Through an emergency baptism, a mother's desperate cry, a parish Holy Hour, and a worldwide wave of prayer, Engstrom invites you to witness the power of prayer. 61 Minutes to a Miracle testifies to the enduring value of a life given entirely to Christ. Discover how Fulton Sheen's sanctity reached from Peoria to heaven and back again, changing one baby boy's life and the history of the Catholic Church. Through this inspiring account, you'll come to know Blessed Fulton Sheen, not just as a famous bishop on a black-and-white TV screen, but as a friend in heaven, ready to intercede for you.
