A novena is the occasion when a devotional prayer is said for nine straight days and is usually a prayer of petition. This holy card has an image of Joan of Arc on the front of the card in her military armor while the back of the card features a novena prayer said to her. The prayer asks St. Joan to intercede for the one praying to obtain help for a particular problem. St. Joan is often called the "Maid of New Orleans" because of the help she gave in winning a decisive battle there for the French where she is a heroine.
Along with being the patron saint of France she is the patron saint of military personnel, prisoners and soldiers among others. This Novena to St. Joan of Arc holy card is made in Italy, measures 2-1/2 by 4-1/2 inches and features the famous Fratelli-Bonello artwork embellished with gold trim.
