Honor the life of St. Lucy with this attractive medal necklace. She is the patron saint of eye disorders. This St. Lucy saint medal is specially designed to be a reminder of including a devotion to her for those in need of her inspiration during their eye disorder experience to increase one's faith. “Saint Lucy” is engraved on the medal’s front top area while, “Patron Saint of Eye Disorders” is engraved along the bottom perimeter. “Patron Saint of Eye Disorders” is also engraved on the back of the medal. St. Lucy is shown in the middle of the front. Measuring ¾” in diameter, the St. Lucy medal is easy to add to a bracelet or necklace because it comes with a jump ring.

St. Lucy was unfortunately exposed for her Christian faith by a disgruntled suitor which resulted in Lucy being condemned to death. After unsuccessful attempts to humiliate her and take her life, Lucy was martyred by a sword thrust into her throat. Her feast day is December 13. Her feast is celebrated with a Festival of Light in Sweden, where she is known as Santa Lucia. The youngest daughter dresses in white and wears a crown of lighted candles.   Made from a combination of metals, including: zinc, aluminum, copper, and magnesium, the St. Lucy medal is round and fairly lightweight.
