Product DescriptionIn his Foreward to Eucharistic Adoration, Cardinal William Levada states that " it is adoration that stills us, attunes our hearts to the voice of God, and enlightens our eyes with the vision of charity". Eucharistic Adoration Holy Hour Meditations on the Seven Last Words of Christ, written by Msgr. Charles M. Murphy, is intended as a worship aid for anyone who spends time in adoration and meditation before the Blessed Sacrament especially during the time of Lent. The book has an introduction that explains the importance of adoration and what can be learned by meditating on the last words of Christ. Msgr. Murphy includes a suggested procedure for how to approach each meditation, treating the meditation as a conversation with God.
Each chapter has the words from scripture, a reflection on the words and "Dialogue Points for a Conversation with the Eucharistic Lord" which suggests actions or questions the reader can take part in to make the meditation more meaningful. An interesting addition is "The Witness" section found at the end of each chapter where the lives of people who range from Dorothy Day to Simone Weil to Blessed John XXIII are presented with an explanation as to how their lives illustrate to a further extent the words of the reflection.
