Product Details
The Bethany Collection is a line of beautifully detailed pewter saint statues depicting the saints in poses with which we are familiar and, in many cases, including a symbol for which the saint is known. St. Florian was a distinguished officer during the early fourth century known for his bravery. When it was found out that he was a Christian he was sentenced to death and bravely died for his faith. The statue is made of fine pewter and stands 3-1/2 inches tall with the name of Saint Florian and the word "Firefighters" engraved on the base. Included with the statue is a laminated prayer card which contains prayers to that specific saint. The statue is presented in a window gift box that allows the statue to be seen while keeping it secure.
Sources tell of St. Florian saving a town with a single bucket of water. He is thus known as the patron saint of firefighters so the Saint Florian statue would be a nice gift to give to someone who is a firefighter. Many young men also choose St. Florian for their Confirmation saint with the intent of emulating the good qualities of that particular saint so the statue would be an appropriate gift to give for that occasion also. The size of the statue enables it to be easily displayed on a shelf, desk or night table.
