This unique 4-Way medal cross necklace is made from a centuries old art form of applying colorful enamels to the surface of a metal object. This Cloisonne 4Way medal uses translucent enamels that add a new twist to the ancient Cloisonne way. How is this beautiful art created? The Cloisonne technique requires several time consuming steps. It begins with molding the base metal into the desired shape and then the metal wires are soldered into a form of a pattern. Color and translucent enamels are then inlaid into this form and fired. As you can see from our photo, the Cloisonne piece lies on top of the 4Way medal with its own attachment loop. However, it does not swing easily to reveal the 4Way medal.
The 4Way medal is a favorite among Catholics and a great gift for any sacramental or religious occasion. Made from beautiful sterling silver, the 4-Way medal depicts the elements of four medals: the Scapular (Sacred Heart of Jesus) on top, St. Joseph on the left, St. Christopher on the right, and the Miraculous medal on the bottom. On the back are four symbols of the saints. The handsome sterling silver 4-Way cross measures 7/16” across and high. This Cloisonne 4Way medal comes on an 18 inch rhodium plated chain that diminishing tarnishing. Our 4-Way medal necklace comes beautifully packaged in a velvet textured hinged jewelry box.
