Product Details
St. Roch is another young man who gave up his wealth to minister to the poor. He traveled as a pilgrim and ministered to those suffering from the plague which was quite prevalent during his time. He himself was infected with the plague and was a great source of comfort to those suffering the plague as he was a living example of someone surviving this dreaded disease. This holy card, dedicated to him, is a two page card featuring the world famous artwork of Fratelli-Bonella with gold stamped trim.
The front of the card has an image of St. Roch showing the remains of the plague on his leg while a dog, who brought him bread when he was ill and saved his life, stands beside him. The back of the card has a prayer of intercession to St. Roch asking for a cure for a particular illness. The inside has a biography of St. Roch, his feast day, the meaning of his name and the people for whom he is considered a patron saint. The card measures 5-1/4 by 3-1/8 inches so is easy to carry or use as a bookmark in a bible or prayer book. It would be a nice memento to give the young person who has chosen Roch as his Confirmation name.
