St. Matthew, also known as St. Matthew the Levite, was one of the four Evangelists and considered to be the author of one of the Gospels. It is thought that he was a tax collector who was called by Jesus and became one of his followers. He is the patron saint of accountants, bankers, bookkeepers, stockbrokers, and tax collectors.
