St. Mark is one of the four evangelists and was thought to be the disciple and interpreter of St. Peter. He or his communits is considered to be the author of one of the four Gospels found in the New Testament. He died a martyr as did many of the disciples. The front of the St. Mark prayer pamphlet has an image of St. Mark sitting with a book and a lion. One legend has it that at some point he was thrown to the lions, and they refused to attack him. The back of the pamphlet has a prayer of gratitude to God for St. Mark and his gospel. The St. Mark prayer pamphlet is a 2 page pamphlet made in Italy and features world famous Fratelli-Bonello artwork with gold stamped trim. It measures 5-1/4 by 3-1/8 inches so is easy and convenient to carry or use as a bookmark in a prayer book or bible. The inside of the pamphlet contains his biography, his feast day, the meaning of his name and the various areas to which he is considered the patron saint including attorneys, captives, barristers, and notaries.
