Honor the life of St. Lucy with this attractive medal necklace. A disgruntled suitor exposed her Christian faith which resulted in Lucy being condemned to death. After unsuccessful attempts to humiliate her and take her life, Lucy was martyred by a sword thrust into her throat. Her feast day is December 13. Her feast is celebrated with a Festival of Light in Sweden, where she is known as Santa Lucia. The youngest daughter dresses in white and wears a crown of lighted candles. The St. Lucy medal necklace is made of sterling silver and is about 7/8" high by 5/8" wide. The 18" chain is made of surgical stainless steel to prevent tarnishing and corrosion.

The front of the St. Lucy medal necklace depicts her from the waist up along with the words "Saint Lucy Pray for Us" around the edge.
