Born to a peasant family in northeast France, she had visions telling her to lead the French to victory over the English and did so at Orleans, France. However, Joan was captured by the English, put on trial for heresy and witchcraft, and burned at the stake. Her feast day is May 30. The St. Joan of Arc medal necklace is made of sterling silver and is about 7/8" high by 5/8" wide. The 18" chain is made of surgical stainless steel to prevent tarnishing and corrosion.
