St. Christopher is one of the most popular saints and this handsome medal necklace design makes a perfect gift. This St. Christopher medal measures 1-1/8 inches tall and is made of 8 karat gold plate over sterling silver. The chain measures 24 inches and is gold-filled. Legend has it that he carried the Christ Child on his back across a river. With each step, the child became heavier and more difficult to bear. When they reached the opposite shore, the child revealed himself as Jesus and told Christopher he had carried the weight of the world on his shoulders. Since then, St. Christopher has become the patron saint of automobiles, motorists, hazards of traveling, porters, sailor, travelers, truck drivers, bus drivers, and bachelors. His feast day is July 25.
