St. Charles Borromeo spent much of his life reforming diocese, creating parishes and establishing monasteries. Charles convinced the pope at that time to reconvene the Council of Trent and was in charge of the writing of the catechism and missal that the council called to be published. He was very engaged in educating and teaching the poor and disenfranchised of his time.
