Product Details
St. Camillus de Lellis established a congregation dedicated to caring for the sick called The Ministers of the Sick or the Camillians. The congregation cared for not only the poor but victims on ships suffering from the plague and then to troops fighting in Hungary and Croatia. This holy card, dedicated to him, is a two page card featuring the world famous artwork of Fratelli-Bonella with gold stamped trim. The front of the card has an image of St. Camillus at the bedside of a sick patient wearing the black robes with red crosses for which his congregation was known. The back of the card has a prayer to St. Camillus for nurses and hospital workers and asking that hospitals come to resemble the inn at which the Good Samaritan left the wounded man. The inside has a biography of St. Camillus, his feast day, the meaning of his name and the people for whom he is considered a patron saint. The card measures 5-1/4 by 3-1/8 inches so is easy to carry or use as a bookmark in a bible or prayer book. It would be a nice memento to give the young person who has chosen Camillus as his Confirmation name or to someone involved in the medical profession.
