We have almost no information about Anne, the mother of Mary, or about Mary as a child. However, artists are inspired to create images of her and we believe this is an inspirational image of St. Anne interacting with Mary by reading a book with her. This St. Anne statue from Joseph Studio presents a lovely picture (questionable because they didn't have books like this then) of what you would hope the two as mother and daughter enjoyed together. The St. Anne statue measures 7 inches tall and is made of a resin/stone mix. Sized to be displayed almost anywhere, the St. Anne statue if versatile as you do not need a lot of room to have it out and visible.
The colors and detailing are wonderful with the contrasting green of Anne's dress to the white of the little girl's. Great detailing is shown, as is usual with Joseph Studio, especially in the flower wreath the little girl has in her hair. This St. Anne with Child statue would be a nice gift for a new mother. Or a grandmother might like it as a remembrance of the time she and her daughter had together when the daughter was a child. This inspirational statue of St. Anne is so nice as it presents an image of a perfect time the mother and child had together.
