Product Details
St. Monica is probably best known as being the mother of Augustine of Hippo. She is honored for her outstanding Christian virtues especially her suffering because of the adultery of her husband and her prayerful life dedicated to the reformation of her son. The St. Monica metal is made of sterling silver and measures 7/8 inch tall. It comes on a 18" surgical stainless steel chain, which is the preferred length chain for most women to wear. The words "St. Monica pray for us" appear around the edge of the medal. The St. Monica medal is hand polished, and hand engraved which brings out the beauty of the silver and the design of the medal.
The medal shows Monica in simple robes holding a book and a staff. She is the patron saint of difficult marriages, disappointing children, and victims of adultery. It is said that St. Augustine did some of his finest writing in Confessions when experiencing his grief of the death of his mother.
