Product Details
Saint Juan Diego was from Mexico City and identified as a simple native Indian that converted when the Franciscan Missionaries came to Mexico. He and his wife were the first to be baptized. Going on to study his new faith, Saint Juan Diego became very active and deeply spiritual in their Catholic Church. When his beloved wife died, Saint Juan Diego had a vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary, that we now refer to as Our Lady of Guadalupe. She asked him to build a Shrine where she had appeared. You can visit that shrine today at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The front of the holy card shows Saint Juan Diego with the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe while the back has a prayer to Saint Juan Diego.
The Saint Juan Diego card features him having his vision and the back lists him being a patron saint for the indigenous and the laity. His Feast Day is December 9. The Saint Juan Diego prayer card measures 2-5/8 by 4-3/8 inches so is easy to carry in a purse, wallet or backpack or use as a bookmark in a prayer book or bible. It is laminated to protect the card and to allow the card to be used over and over again.
