Product Details
Saint Isidore, the patron saint of farmers and laborers, was born in Madrid, Spain in 1079. At a young age, he took up the hoe and worked in service for a wealthy landowner in Madrid where he would do so the rest of his life. Saint Isidore had a deep religious calling to rise early, go to church, and communing with God behind his plow. Known for his piety to the poor and to the proper treatment of animals, cared for them with food and other ways. May 15 is Saint Isidore’s Feast Day as he died that day in 1130 and declared a saint in 1622.
