My Pocket Prayerbook, edited by Rev. Lawrence Lovasik, is a little book filled with prayers for many occasions. The book is flexible and measures 2-1/4 by 3-3/4" so is the perfect smaller size to carry in a pocket or purse. It has 64 pages and contains many of the traditional prayers such as the Our Father and Hail Mary but also has daily prayers for each day of the week, prayers for the Sacraments of Confession and Communion and prayers for the different liturgical seasons of the year. Personal devotions are also included in honor of Mary and the saints. The Mass is our greatest prayer so the book includes an explanation of what is done and why it is done at each part of the Mass.
Since this book is easily carried, you can have it with you any time you wish to take a few moments to spend a little time in prayer. It gives the reader ready-made prayers to say when the reader cannot find words of his own to use especially on short notice. My Pocket Prayerbook would be a nice little book to have on hand for parishioners to use when coming into the Church to pray.
