Christmas day can take a long time to come for young children. Help them count down the days using this lovely Advent Calendar. The calendar measures 8-1/4" by 11-3/4" and has windows for the child to open, one for each day of Advent. Behind the window is a bible verse about the Nativity so not only does the calendar help mark off the days until Christmas but the child hears information as to what the celebration of Christmas really means.
This calendar has a lovely scene depicting people coming to Midnight Mass to celebrate the birth of Jesus. You see a nicely lit church, a Nativity set, carolers, decorated trees and a lovely lantern lit walkway all of which inspire feelings of the season and thoughts about the birth of Christ which is the reason we celebrate. The child could simply open each day on his own or you could make opening the daily window part of a family Advent ritual. No matter how you use the calendar, the child can see the number of days until Christmas getting shorter and shorter as he or she slowly runs out of windows to open.
