This is a stunning statue of St. Gabriel the Archangel. This inspirational statue comes from the Veronese Collection of Goldscheider of Austria and is made with the sturdy and durable cold cast bronze method. The statue stands 9”H and is finished with hand painting which adds just a touch of color to his figure. The detailing on the statue is incredible as is evidenced particularly in the armor he is wearing, the trumpet and staff he is carrying and his wings. The Archangel Gabriel is found in many religious traditions and scriptures. He is the one said to be the messenger of God, hence the trumpet announcing his arrival.
He is the angel who appears to Mary to announce the conception of Jesus and is thought to be the angel who comes to Zacharias to also announce the birth of John.
