A meaningful gift to give a young person for First Communion is this cross embellished with symbols of First Communion and the Church. The cross is made of pewter and is about 5" long. The symbols include a lamb with a cross symbolizing Jesus as the Lamb of God on one arm, a church on the other, a chalice in the center and grapes and wheat, the symbols of the bread and wine of Communion, under the chalice. The top of the cross has the words "First Holy Communion" and "I am the bread of life". Even though the cross has a lot of symbols, the open work design of the cross keeps it from looking too busy. The circular or budded design on the ends of the arms of the cross gives it a unique and interesting look.
