On the day a child makes his First Communion, he will also want to participate more fully in the Mass. This Communion book has prayers for the child to use to follow along with the Mass as it is being said and also has some of the basic prayers like the Our Father and Glory Be that the child is learning to say. The book is a hardcover book with the cover featuring a boy kneeling in prayer and holding a rosary in his hands as he may do on his First Communion day. The cover also has the words "My First Communion" written in lovely script making the book a fitting remembrance of the day the boy received Communion for the first time.
If a child starts saying these more simple prayers during Mass at this early age, it leads into saying the prayers more fully as the child grows older. The First Communion book measures 5" high and 3-1/2" wide so is a nice size for a young child to hold and use. The First Communion book is a way to more fully involve the young person in the Mass especially on the day he receives his First Communion and continuing on as he attends Mass each Sunday.
