D1999 Box Pleated Surplice from Christian Brands
Consider this beautiful D1999 Box Pleated Surplice that comes to us from the R.J. Toomey Company, a well-known brand name for liturgical vestments to meet your needs. Featuring a square neck design and box pleats, this surplice is made from 65% Polyester/35% Cotton. This D1999 Surplice is measured from the yoke to the bottom hem for your size. The Surplice is sized from Small through X-Large. Please refer to the size chart below to determine your size and simply select your choice in the dropdown menu when placing your order. Please note that due to the lace inserts, this Box Pleated Surplice should be dry cleaned only.
While the form of the surplice, a garment which dates to the early thirteenth century, has remained unchanged, its use has shifted a bit. Originally worn over heavy furs during outdoor services, today the surplice has a more symbolic purpose, acting as a visible reminder of the white garment worn at baptism.
