Heroines of God is a book designed to introduce children but especially girls to female saints who have an important place in the history of the Catholic Church. This hardcover book presents biographies of 31 women telling the stories of their lives, why they are important in the church and the day of the year on which their special feast day is celebrated. Each saint also has a colorful illustration that presents to some extent an image of how or why they were important in the Church. Heroines of God is a hardcover book with 64 informative pages written in simple and easy to understand language.
Saints are an integral part of the Church, and this book introduces children to important and relevant female saints from St. Agatha to St. Joan of Arc to St. Ursula. Girls are presented with women who give good examples of how to live a life of faith, love, and compassion. The young girl could be encouraged to pick one or more of the saints and to try to live as the saint did. This could develop into the saint she chooses as her Confirmation saint.
