Each olive wood finger rosary is made from carefully pruned olive tree branches and carved with simple tools. Therefore, no olive trees are harmed in this natural process that keeps the trees bearing fruit. A "Certificate of Authenticity" is printed on the back of the packaging. This carving tradition dates to the time of the Crusades when artists from Europe settled in Bethlehem.
