An Ignatian Book of Days by Jim Manney is a book containing 365 meditations drawing from the teachings of St. Ignatius, the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises and the insights and reflections of favorite Ignatian leaders and other laypeople and writers. Each meditation starts with a teaching quote that comes from the point of view of Ignatian spirituality. This is followed by a short reflection that emphasizes a point made in the quote. At the bottom of the page is a question or suggested action to make the meditation personal to you. Pope Francis, Karl Rahner, Tim Muldoon, Margaret Siff and Simone Weil are just a few of the people whose quotes are used.
Manney states that a priority of the book is to help the reader with prayer and reflection while at the same time deepening an understanding of Ignatian spirituality.
