Measuring 4-1/2”W x 6”H, this Saints of Ireland icon features “The Land of Saints and Scholars”. The four favorite saints are Patrick, Brigid, Brendan, and Kevin. On the Saints of Ireland icon, St. Patrick and St. Brigid are at the top with St. Kevin and St. Brendan across the bottom. Ireland or Eire is shown in her full shape of land in green behind the saints with the blue ocean surrounding her. St. Patrick and St. Brigid are both patron saints of Ireland. St. Kevin is the patron saint of Dublin, Ireland born in 498 AD. He's remembered as an ascetic and after being ordained, lived in a hermit cave known as "Kevin's bed" in Glendalough. St. Brendan is designated as the patron saint of sailors, navigators, mariners, seafarers and yachtsmen due to his extraordinary missionary work by ships.
Mounted on wood, the Saints of Ireland icon is made with a process called, “Lumina Gold” which creates rich colors because the print is on top of a gold leaf background. There is a non-glare satin lamination that provides UV protection coating ensuring colors don’t fade. A keyhole for hanging is drilled into the back at the top.
