This beautiful Holy Family statue is made in Italy by the company founded from the famed sculptor, Ulrich Peathoner, in the Val Gardena area. The art of wood sculpture began in this area in the mid-17th century. Celebrating the artistry of a craft passed down from generation to generation, this Holy Family statue is made from artfully dried wood and is a small size, just 3" tall so you can display it anywhere for an intimate viewing.
In addition, the statue comes in a handsome, black case. Woodcarving in Val Gardena, Italy is a 400 year old tradition. The Val Gardena tradition goes back to the Middle Ages and this wooden statue of Holy Family demonstrates how the art has been perfected into modern times.
