Michael Gaitley, MIC, bases the retreat on the book True Devotion in which St. Louis de Montfort lays out a course in preparation for Marian consecration that lasts for 33 days. Fr. Gaitley's retreat reduces the amount of prayers said and allows more time for meditation, contemplation and pondering inspiring teachings on Marian consecration. Each week of the retreat you read " how four giants of Marian consecration lived out his or her consecration to Jesus through Mary".
The giants are Maximillian Kolbe, Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Blessed John Paul II and St. Louis de Montfort and the goal is not just to read about them but to "ponder their message in our hearts". The actual retreat takes one of the giants to meditate on each week and each day presents, in 33 Days to Morning Glory, brief thoughts about the presence of Mary as found in the life and teachings of the giant for that week. Marian devotions are also included at the end of the book.
