Although the church acknowledges about two dozen St. Gerards, the most well known is Gerard Majella. St. Gerard Majella lived in Italy in the 18th century, and is the patron saint of expectant mothers, mothers, pregnant women, and childbirth. His feast day is celebrated on October 16. This round sterling silver St. Gerard medal measures 5/8" in diameter and comes on an 18” surgical stainless steel chain. The front of the St. Gerard medal necklace says, “Saint Gerard Pray for US” and the back of the medal is blank.
